Norman, Oklahoma's Evangelicals got their start back in 2004. The band released their debut album So Gone in 2006. In 2008, Evangelicals released their follow-up CD, The Evening Descends, in 2008. The band's dark and gloomy sound is a mix of glam, funk, soul, psychedelic rock, and synth pop that tells stories of religion, revivalism, insanity, drugs, black-outs, zombies, good and evil, car crashes, love, and life in a mental institution.
